ALL ABOUT CO WASHING

ALL ABOUT CO WASHING

November 2, 2015

So what's all this fuss about CO WASHING? What is a CLEANSING CONDITIONER? NO POO?

CO WASHING is an individual decision. It's not a cure for every hair problem.

WHAT IS IT?

Co WASHING is simply using conditioner to cleanse the hair instead of shampoo

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CO WASHING?

  • Dryness is eliminated

  • Curls are more defined

  • For Natural hair - Eliminates dryness and makes wash and go styling effortless

  • For Transitioning hair – Softens new growth so less breakage at demarcation line from when you received your last relaxer

  • For Relaxed hair - Softens new growth making stretching relaxer touch ups is easier

  • Co-washing is incredibly gentle on the hair

WHAT WILL A CLEANSING CONDITINER DO?

  • Cleanse and detangle at the same time as well as gently lift light dirt and product buildup from the hair

  • A multi-tasker takes the place of four (yes four!) products: shampoo, deep, and leave-in conditioner, and detangler—and can be used on any type of hair

  • Aids in moisture retention and increasing strength and shine

KEEPING IT SIMPLE

Shampoo will remove more dirt and oil than conditioner, and cleansing conditioner will remove more dirt and oil than plain water." So at the end of the day, determining whether to co-wash and what type  of cleansing conditioner you use  lies in what works best for your hair's health and texture

WHEN AND HOW TO CO WASH

That’s an individual preference. You can keep you current regimen, while honestly just eliminating the shampoo step. So if you normally shampoo your hair once a week, keep shampooing your hair once a week. Just use CHAMOMILE CLEANSING CONDITIONER instead of shampoo. I CO WASH daily many naturals  CO WASH once a week, or at most twice a week.

  • Saturate hair efficiently

  • Divide hair into 4 sections and apply 2-6 pumps to each section from root to ends

  • Finger comb through to distribute evenly

  • Leave on hair for duration of shower

  • Rinse thoroughly and completely from root to ends
